Background on Scenarios
By the virtue of this interview with reference to modules, I have considered various scenarios that covers trauma faced in military and domestic abuse. After extensive analysis and research, I decided to work on domestic violence since it has become very common in every home. By research, I have seen that domestic abuse can happen to both female and male. Prior to this, I was working in a non-profit organisation that had developed initiatives to help people who have survived the brutality of domestic abuse offering them counselling, legal aid and also safe housing. Domestic violence is a grave issue which is prevailing in our society cutting across all demographics. It is imperative to deep dive into the problem and address the issues.
Development of Scenario
Summary of Case - Protagonist of the case Kevin Jones, who is 29-year-old married man and father of three children. The eldest child is son who is 6-year-old, followed by two daughters Katie and Maggie, 2 years and 4 years respectively. Sarah, wife of Kevin with 31 years is working with local warehouse as a packer. Family of Jones hail from humble background and survive on tight budget living on income of Sarah's job. The family is located in small town in old run-down department. Kevin has had a tough childhood, losing his mother to lung cancer around 5 years ago and he lost all contact with his family especially with his father. The relationship with father is so bad that there is no communication from ages. The family normally relies on strong financial support from Sarah's family especially her parents to enable the essential needs. Furthermore, Sarah is demotivated with life and suffered with an addiction to methamphetamine along with added stress of rocky martial relationship.
Over the years this relationship has gotten even worse with intense verbal as well as physical abuse which has also pushed drugs in the family. Neighbours have reported frequent noises and fights from the John's family apartment. Intensity of fights were extreme because of which police were also called by neighbours. Once the police arrived the apartment, they found blood and Liam who was badly injured. His nose was bleeding and few bruises on face.
