They have 3 business divisions, Account Opening and Funding, Account Servicing, and Collections. IT has two divisions Network support and Helpdesk. Everyone else is considered back office and will not be part of this exercise. Each team has approximately 100 people split between 2 facilities, Philadelphia and Dallas. Both are in similar office parks in the suburbs of their respective cities. For the midterm you must create a Business continuity plan for a small, medium and major incident. 6 plans all together. Small incident where Trashcan fire closes half the building for a day will lead to phone as well as internet outage risk resulting in the cut cables, phone server down as well as phone company power loss. The probability of such an incident is low whereas its impact is high in Philadelphia business setup. It will impact the business critical system.
As downtime is 24 hours due to such fire and impact is on half the building so for Account opening and funding function being a highly critical business process for organization needs to restart within 4 hours. Impacted functions because of this incident are Operations and Financial reporting including partner reporting, file transfer to servicing platforms and from servicing platforms to domain servers.
