Current Events Project Summary Assignment Guidelines
Select a recent article from a media source (e.g., CNN News, Time Magazine, any local newspaper)
on a topic related to epidemiology that has been published within the past year. Simply read the article and then write at least a two-page summary highlighting how the article you chose is related to Epidemiology. Specifically, think critically about the topic and present your epidemiologic opinion on the following information:
a. How is the article related to epidemiology based on what you have learned over the duration of this course?
*Please be sure to include the title, author, media source, and date of article used in the paper.
Avoid just summarizing the article presented; instead, critique the article as if you were an Epidemiologist for a day.
b. What was the approach of epidemiology used for the study of disease (health conditions) in populations for this article?
At the beginning of the two-page summary, include a 2-3 sentence Abstract that summarizes the article used and how the article relates to epidemiology.
The Abstract will count towards the two-page minimum requirement.
*Note: The Abstract portion will be used for the Current Events Project Discussion Board.
Include a title page and a reference page (that does not count towards the two-page summary) with
your reference(s) in theAmerican Psychological Association (APA)format.
Since you will provide your information on the title page, do not include your name or any
other information at the beginning of the two-page summary.
APA Reference Format Example:
