About 60% of our clinic’s volume is low income, about 20% of the clients are not insured. Besides a busy practice in the clinic, we would like to extend our hands for a better community. Hence, we would like to volunteer our time and service to provide a sustainable healthy living and drug-free environment to any and all who would like to be part of our mission to create a better tomo

1) Project Proposal - Creating a community-style acupuncture center for applying NADA Protocol to alcoholics at Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) meetings. This treatment center will be set up in the AA meetings on Church X, Downtown Portland one hour before meetings. This clinic will be staffed by volunteer acupuncturists licensed by the Oregon Medical Board. Benefits to the ‘Rehab Facility Name’ include inexpensive, easy access, support with withdrawal symptoms from alcoholism and a likely decrease in the need for pharmaceutical intervention for patients in cases of ‘pain and anxiety’(more benefits?)
2) Evaluation - We could make surveys to give our participants weekly to determine how much and if the 5NP treatments in addition to their meetings helped with their cravings for drugs/alcohol. We could also include questions about their overall sense of wellbeing, stress levels, and ability to sleep after receiving treatment.
3) There is a large community of addicts in Portland that may not have the education or the access to treatment. If we got this grant, we could potentially help hundreds of addicts in the area by administering 5NP treatments to aid in their recovery.
There are only 5 NADA programs in OR as of 2012
