Stress management in the workplace
Every job requires different roles, skills and responsibilities to be managed by the person
at the workplace. There arise conflicts in accomplishing the tasks due to overlapping of their
oles and common usage of resources in an office. Also, the developmental possibilities at the
workplace such as that of promotions, training of employees, insecurity of job, etc. are important
sources of stress. Apart from that, the stressors at the job lead to reduction in the efficiency of the
employees as they become tensed and not able to focus over their tasks to be completed. The
culture of organisations also varies leading to development of different chain of relationships
among all the levels of the designations. Managers are responsible for creation of conducive
environment at the workplace as they might be excessively demanding and most of the time
criticizing the work and attitude of his co-workers creating lot of stress. This unsupportive nature
of the managers would lead to spread of negative vibes into the environment having deep impact
over the productivity of the employees. Hence, they are not able to share their problems and
issues faced in their job and just try to complete their work at given deadline rather than
concentrating over the quality of the work delivered. Sometimes employees at the workplace are
also the sufferer of being bullied by their peer group or the managers, thus disabling such
workers to develop a good team and handling group tasks fearlessly.
Stress management at workplace is important because it needs to be managed not only by
the employees but it is quite important to reduce it by the higher management so that the
organization does not lose its reputation over the period of time. It might lead to health hazards
for the workers in the long run in the form of depression or cardiac a
ests which are generally
not felt in the short duration of time. Therefore, managing stress and supervising the reasons for
