The thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth amendments to the constitutions worked profoundly to shape the current condition of federalism and civil rights in the country. There are periods of turmoil like disfranchisement of the southern states, literacy tests, grandfather clauses, however still all such discriminatory laws termed Jim Crow laws were ruled to exist separate but with equal doctrine(Fleming and Moris,2015).
