Few recommendations which were made in the Report issued by the Royal Commission on Queensland Floods have been addressed.
The project recommendation No. 7.18, “ Delivery of Flood Provisions in the planning framework” under the Department of Infrastructure, Local Government & Planning, was completed. There were concerns that there is certain inappropriate offsite disposal in Ipswich which further increased the impact of the flood. This recommended directed that the local Government should be given the task to turn these works assessable.
