1) Which one of the major achievements in public health identified in the E-Learning course – Introduction to public health is especially interesting to you?
The major achievement in the public health appeared as quite interesting to me is the public health approach adopted for curing Cholera. It grab my attention as well as interest due to the manner adopted for handling this disease which has already been spread at wider level. As identified, a four step process-surveillance, risk factor identification, intervention and implementation. This four step process has proved a comprehensive approach for identifying and solving the epidemic of cholera.
Instead of devising and implementing a quick remedial solution without gaining insight into the issues, public health professionals have focussed on identifying factors causing the problem, its impacts in terms of risk, searching of possible remedies or solutions and implementing best one for getting desired results (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2014).

The achievement can be stated in terms as identified disease has been resolved effectively. The public health professionals has analysed and outlined the fact that water contaminated with sewage is the major cause of cholera, according to the study of epidemiology.
On diagnosing of the cholera problem, some interventions are researched and implemented. These interventions were based on stopping exposure to the contaminated water by the people, and, also stopping supply of contaminated water in the specific area.
