The Affordable Care Act (ACA), popularly known as Obamacare, which was approved in 2010 and came into force in 2014, is one such Endeavour. By extending Medicaid and establishing health insurance markets where people may buy insurance at lower prices, the ACA hoped to increase the proportion of Americans having health insurance. The uninsured rate decreased significantly because of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), from around 16% in 2010 to about 9% in 2019, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, which was approved by the US Congress on March 11, 2021 and was then signed by President Joe Biden on the same day, is another recent initiative to assist the uninsured.
