What is ambulatory service?
Ambulatory care is when an individual or outpatient is seeking personal health care i.e. a patient who is not in a hospital or bed ridden. It means that the patient walks in directly to the ambulatory health care centre or a

Outpatient care service includes immediate care or treatment for an acute and often serious illness or injury without an overnight stay. Outpatient services can be urine and blood test, X-Rays, MRI scan, Chemotherapy, Small surgeries, endoscopy, biopsy, wellness program, psychological counselling, prevention services and diagnostic services. Only registered nurses are allowed to engage in the healthcare activities so that the patient can seek professional assistance. The American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN) defines ambulatory care nursing as a comprehensive practice which is based on an extensive knowledge on health sciences and nursing, which applies clinical expertise engrained in the nursing process. Ambulatory care nurses ensure quality of care and patients safety.
