Environment and Things impacting Health of the Citizens of Greenbelt, Maryland — My Wate
    I live in Greenbelt, Maryland. I did not know that water we are drinking is impaired. There are eight water stations, which supply water in my area. All of them are polluted with microorganisms. The quality of water is lower than the expected. The amount of Fecal coliform is high (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 2019). This is a group of bacteria, which helps to indicate the quality of water. As suggested by Griffith et al. (2016), high amount of Fecal coliform indicates that quality of water is very low. It also indicates that there are harmful pathogens present in water, which can have hazardous impact on health.
    As noted by Zhang et al. (2015), it has been seen that the most common type of Fecal Coliform is E. coli. Usually small amount of E. coli is harmless and does not cause any harmful impact on health as they are commonly found in digestive system of humans, but high amount of it lowers the quality of health. Water is contaminated with fecal matter, which can have various sources like agriculture runoff, runoff from wastewater treatment...
