a. Introduction
	Technology has become the integrated part of the modern era. Every organisation in the world has introduced it to make their work easier and faster. Technology is helpful in providing both quality and quantity work. From IT sector to healthcare industry, technology has proven to be the asset to the organisation. Various studies conducted in introduction of technology in healthcare department documented the proof that the services provided to the patients improved. The chances of the error become reduced. As suggested by Stanimirovic and Vintar (2015), introduction of the technology in the healthcare industry reduce the medication error or failure to rescue occur due to lack of communication between inter departments. 
Technology has been assisting humankind since its inventions. Every day new technology is developed with the aim for the welfare of society and the people living in it. All the healthcare institutes, which have integrated technology in the system are considered model for the business in healthcare system. The following essay reflects the personal experience of working in the healthcare industry as registered nurse. It highlights the need to adopt technology at work. It discusses role of technology in improving the practice in caring for patients in health care settings. 
b. Personal Self-Reflection
	Being a registered nurse is a big responsibility. We have a duty towards our patients and saving of their life is our prime objective. After doctors, if someone plays crucial role in healthcare setting is the role of a nurse. We nurse put our heart and soul in providing the quality care to the patients. The theme is experience of working in healthcare setting as registered nurse and the topic is the need to use the technology in a healthcare system, or to be precise working in a direction of e-health initiatives. This theme and topic are important to me because transition as a registered nurse into practice is not an easy task. Being humans, we are prone to making mistakes; nevertheless, expertise comes with practice and experience only. 
In the initial days of practice, it is very common to make mistakes, as it is also the learning phase. Even after being very careful with patients there are chance of error and healthcare, we do not have scope to make errors especially dealing with patients. Our mistake can cost the life of the patient. I am using Gibbs reflective cycle to share my personal self-reflection. Ass suggested by Pianpeng and Koraneekij (2016), Gibbs reflective cycle enhances the level of reflective thinking. Using the Gibbs reflective cycle, my experience is as follows:
Description
	Working in healthcare facility as a registered nurse is a daily challenging job. I had come across many different types of patients with severe to mild conditions. Some patients were cooperative while some are aggressive. Our duty is to administered medicines to all the patients at one go and keep regular track of their condition daily. One day, when I was working as a registered nurse in coronary care unit, a 50-year-old woman was admitted to the care facility. She had suffered from a minor heart attack. My duty was to observe her and administered the medicine. On seeing her symptoms deteriorating, I had administered her the medicine to control her blood pressure. However, I did not notice that was a wrong medicine because of a slight difference in its spelling, due to which instead of getting better, patient’s condition became further worse. 
Feelings
	I felt so bad that due to my medication error, the patient further suffered and I was unable to control her deteriorating condition. 
Evaluation
	The situation was very bad as being a nurse, it my duty to assist the patient carefully and my carelessness had worsened her condition. 
Analysis
	This made me realise that how even small medication errors can lead to the death of a patient or worsen the condition of a patient. As suggested by Feinstein, Pannunzio and Castro (2018), medication errors often lead to the failure in rescue of patients. There are large numbers of cases reported, in which a small medication error led to the deterioration of the condition of patient. It has been found that amount of dosage is one of the main medication errors that occur especially in anaesthetic department, where while administering anaesthesia, the dosage is often not quantified. Sometimes, the dosage is too high, whereas sometimes it might be too low. 
Conclusion
	The only thing, which I think of that situation, is I should have been more careful, while administering medicine to the patient. I should not trust blindly that medicine given to me to administer the patient is correct.
