The primary objective of the post is to discuss about the development and rationale behind the development of a research question meant for addressing a particular healthcare challenge. In this respect, the discussion will focus on the breakdown of the PICO that I have used for creating and developing the research question. The discussion is going to entail a clear and succinct summary of the healthcare topic of interest and the development of an appropriate research question using the PICO framework. Moreover, the post is going to explain which model was selected and the rationale behind such selection. In this respect, the post is going to discuss about the type 2 diabetes mellitus as the healthcare topic of choice. 
Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a lifelong disease that prevents the body from using insulin the way it should (Dansinger, 2020). Type 2 diabetes is directly related with insulin resistance (Dansinger, 2020). It has to be noted that type 2 diabetes mellitus is consisted of multiple dysfunctions that inclue hyperglycemia, insulin resistance, low insulin secretion, and excessive or inappropriate glucagon secretion (Khardori, 2021).
