In today’s generation social responsibility in marketing is vital as most of the customers wants to make an affirmative transformation with their purchases. A company which is more socially responsible tends to attract more customers. Common good and environmental stewardship can be considered as two synonymous terms for corporate social responsibilities. Organization follows strategies like distributing certain percentage of their profit to various charitable groups or for some social cause, using recyclable packing and making promotions that helps to spread social awareness. One need to understand what common good is all about and why it is important. Common good is regarded as something that benefits society on large and not just few individuals and smaller section of a society (Businesses, 2017). Environmental stewardship is regarded as the obligation for ecological superiority shared by all those whose activities affect the environment.
It is noteworthy that many organizations in today’s world have accepted social responsibility policies in marketing as a way to support the public or they aim to produce services and products that benefit society. Like for an example, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation centers on worldwide initiatives for agriculture, education, and health issues (Davis, 2017). The company donates computers to various schools and has also funded work inoculations to thwart disease like polio and HIV/AIDS.
