Marxism, revolutions and a real “people’s government”
The rise of Marxism came long after Karl Marx was gone. The ideas and theories he developed in theory came to be applied only later. As such, there is a wide disparity between the theory and practical application of Marxism or as it is more commonly known Communism. The institution described by Karl Marx for his so-called Utopia required complete control of state in everything, even so much as personal choices like marriage. In a controlled state, where everything is controlled by the government, absolute equality would prevail (Wolff). 
In practice, there has been no such state until today. Even when revolutions were created based on Marxist principles, the institutions formed were far from what Marx advocated.
