Background
Safe medication management is integral to the provision of safe and quality healthcare and the quality use of medicines (Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, XXXXXXXXXXThe Registered Nurse has an integral role in maintaining patient safety and decreasing the risk of medication-related harm when planning a person-centred approach to nursing assessment and care (Kavanagh, 2017).
