· What are some of the major barriers to making price competition work more effectively in health care markets?
· Are health care markets different in some fundamental way from other markets, so that price competition is more difficult to put into effect? Or, can free markets really produce better "products" at lower cost in health care, just as they do in many other sectors of the economy? Why or why not?

· Does the intergenerational nature of Medicare (that is, current workers paying the bills for current retirees) weaken the value of the program to the current generation, because they will not directly benefit until the future?
· What if Medicare did not exist and the burden of health care costs fell onto the elderly and their families?
· Do you and your family have a stake in Medicare and its future?
