POSTER PROJECT
1.General Overview
Each student will be required to submit a poster that summarizes your research on a specific topic in psychology. When you think you have a topic you wish to pursue, email me to have your topic approved. To research your topic you will need to review recent scholarly articles on the topic (i.e. journal articles or books devoted to the topic). These references should be recently published (2015 or more recent) wherever possible.
2.Specific Instructions
Your poster must include a title, the results of your research on the topic, and a reference section. Your poster must also include at least 750 words of text and a minimum of 3 scholarly references. Try to present the information on your poster in a logical, yet creative way (e.g. subdivide your poster with headings, use graphics, pictures, data, color, etc..). I recommend using PowerPoint be used to create your poster, though other software can be used (consult with me beforehand if you plan on using something other than PowerPoint). If necessary, more than 1 PowerPoint ‘slide’ can be used for your poster. This file must be uploaded to the dropbox, “Poster Assignment” no later than April 8th XXXXXXXXXXLate assignments will not be marked. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the College policy on plagiarism.
3.A Message from the professo
Hope you're all well. Just wanted to touch base with some tips around how to reference sources on your poster. You should use in-text citations and a reference section (ideally on the poster itself). You may feel like space is at a premium, however, and you don't have room for in-text citations or a reference section. I'm not wo
ied about formal referencing styles because in my opinion they're mostly a
itrary. For this project, as long as you clearly indicate the key details for a source I'm happy. So, you need to cite the author names, the journal (or book) title/volume, the article page numbers, and ideally the title of the article. I don't care whether this or that element is italicized or underlined or underlined and italicized, etc.
Some ways you can save space with referencing:
a. Use a footnote style, rather than using author names and dates in-text. E.g. Recent evidence (1) suggests that onions and mushrooms are fire when sauteed together in the same pan with a big dollop of butter. - Then use numbered references in your reference section.
. Use short-forms in your reference section. So, rather than this:

4. Please use this site to find proper sources to support the poster and the information provided on the poster. It must be peer reviewed, must be a scholarly journal, and must be from 2015 to cu
ent.
