Prejudice is simply put being judgmental. When a person judges someone without any proper grounds or any verification he/she is being prejudiced. Simply put it is being i
ational. Prejudice can rise due to a number of factors such as sex, race, age, sexual orientation, nationality, socioeconomic status, and religion.
Prejudice often becomes a persistent habit after a while. Here, it may relevantly be said, first impression is the last impression. While it looks very preachy outwardly, this statement is actually based on bias and prejudice. Prejudice once built can be very difficult to change. Usually being prejudiced is due to the superiority urge a person has on another. A fear of diversity could be another cause. Its direct product could be discrimination. Hence it may be noted that prejudice is usually directed towards minorities (Zawadzki, 1948).
