Effects of Faculty and Student Relationship on Student’s Thesis
Thesis writing is a mix of art and science, the process has some technicalities along with the scope of applying personal skills. The use of the concepts and understanding of theories in writing a thesis depends on the knowledge of the students. In such cases, the teachers play a vital role. Writing a thesis is not particularly an easy task. Various minute details needs to be taken care of before a thesis can be produced in its practicality. The report is based on the understanding of the concepts and its effects of the different factor in the process of thesis writing.
Theme 1: How Institutional and Environmental Factors Impact Thesis Writing
There were two students, who were able to write their thesis continuously. One student attributed this to the support she got from the head of the department. The head of the department talked to the student and gave insightful advice. As mentioned by Lindsay (2015), this advice was able to change the way the person structured the thesis in a way that is helpful. The advice was to write about the thesis as it is happening in real time. This makes sure the details are preserved and it makes sure that no essential part is missed out.
On the other hand, other students left the writing of the thesis at the end of the year. The quality of the thesis is affected by the time that the writing started. The consistency of the writing and the rate, at which the person is committed to the writing, contributes to the quality of the paper. As viewed by Lee, Chang and Bryan (2020), this insight from the head of the department allowed the subject to be able to make sure the quality of the paper is maintained. The clarity given about the writing process was a very important process as it helped the students to be known that they are more in touch with the paper and their subject.
Factors such as adequate space and resources to write the paper and the institutional paper during the writing process helped the paper to be better researched and be more detailed. Institutional support and the understanding of the various factors that help to make the thesis better quality. This could include support from peers as well and this should be balanced. They should ensure the criticism is constructive. As argued by Klocko, Marshal and Davidson...
