Introduction
    DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) is basically a medial order that is being given by the doctor or the physician and states that the patient will not receive a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) during any medical proceedings even if patient stops
eathing that is even when patient’s heart stops beating. Where resuscitation is simply a treatment in order to revive the patient if their
eathing stops which, can be done by mouth to mouth
eathing, electric shocks, medicines and much more. This report focuses towards the arguments that supports and are against DNR during any medical proceedings.
Arguments supporting DNR
    It is not wrong or illegal to try and make efforts in order to prolong the life of an individual. DNR is one such medical tool that has the efficiency to revive individuals even when their heart stops
eathing. However, the major question that arises is regarding the ethics of this procedure. It all depends upon the will of patient whether they want to live or not. Patient’s legal right to self-determination that depends upon the will of patient whether they want a lifesaving medical procedure or not and according to this right, patients have complete authority to refuse any procedure as long as they possess the knowledge and implications of their decision which, includes refusing to a lifesavingproceeding. American Nurse Association supports patient’s right of self-determination and also states that any health care provider who attempt to violate patients’ right are actually violating a legal right because DNR is a legal document that reflects patient’s desire to avoid any life supporting interventions.
