Implications of Cultural Variables for Communication with Team
Verbal and non-verbal variables together converge into an effective communication and the same applies to business communications also. Cultural diversity has always been presented as a hindrance in business world, which is due to misunderstanding or the lack in understanding of other cultures. As argued by Stahl and Tung (2015), there has been many theories that present the dark side of cultural diversity and focus only on the adverse effects of cross-cultural contacts. 
They also presented that there is a need to adopt a multi-lens policy in order to provide a holistic and more accurate description of reality, which is the understanding of verbal and non-verbal aspects of every culture. Countries like the US are categorized under ‘low-context culture’ because they have a more explicit and direct communication style, while China and Mexico are considered as ‘high-context cultures’ because they possess an indirect communication style that is often embedded in sociocultural context (Hallikainen & Laukkanen, 2016).
