8: This assignment asks you to construct an essay plan. In order to do this you should follow the steps outlined below:
Step 1: You will be given a list of 3 questions of which you must select 1 question to answe
Step 2: You should
eak down the question so that you understand what the question is asking you to do. Do seek help from your lecturer if you are unclear or need clarification on any aspect of the question.
Step 3: You should conduct some academic reading around the subject relating to your chosen question. Whilst reading, make some notes in your own words that will help you to understand the subject and to evaluate what you have read.
Step 5: Read through your notes and write a plan of 200 words . This plan is designed to help you to consider how you will structure the essay, key points you will discuss in that essay and the academic writers that you can draw upon to help you answer the question.
Step 6 :Your plan should be structured so that it has a title, a clear beginning (introduction), middle (main body) and a clear ending (Conclusion). Followed by a list of sources that you have read. Remember to write the list using the Harvard referencing system

12: Your course seeks to help you to develop an understanding of how and why research happens. The different types of research and how they differ in style and outcomes.
Each week the lecture and tutorial content has introduced you to a new approach to researching in the social sciences. You have made notes from the lectures and tutorials and been introduced to key texts to help guide your understanding of the research process. You will now use your knowledge, understanding and notes to write your essay plan. In this way you are putting what you have learned into practice.

It will show you how to construct an essay plan and introduce you to Harvard referencing
Overview of essay plan
Your essay plan has four elements:
Title –this is a heading, which you must include and select that from the list in of six Assignment 1.
Introduction –this is a subheading, which you must include. It provides a summary of your main body and conclusion.
Main body –this must contain at least three subheadings with
ief descriptions under them. They must all relate to the topic that you have select.
Conclusion –this is a subheading and must
iefly discuss the key theme/s of your main body. You should also write what they mean for the topic that you have discussed.
Your essay plan must also contain in-text references, as well as a reference list, in line with Harvard referencing.

You must choose one of the following titles:
1. Explain one research method that uses qualitative techniques
2. Explain one research method that uses quantitative techniques
3. Compare 2 ethical considerations for research

Your main body should have three to four subheadings relating your topic.
For example, if you were going to map ‘what is the difference between quantitative and qualitative research methods?’, you would include at least two research methods from quantitative and qualitative research. (e.g., interviews and questionnaires or experiments and statistics).
Whatever, the subject (topic) that you choose for your assignment, each theme that you chart should have a subheading.
You will only need to write one or two sentences describing the subheading you have written.

You should include the subheading conclusion.
Your conclusion should map the key features of your main body and contain remarks on what they mean. For instance, if you had reviewed why is research important, you may conclude that research is essential for locating new knowledge and understanding on a cure for cancer.

Identify the main risk factors of Type 2 diabetes among adults in the UK (HEADING)
Introduction (SUBHEADING)
This essay will specifically focus on three main risk factors of Type 2 diabetes, namely, unhealthy eating, lack of exercise and the expansion of fast food restaurants. Finally, it will conclude that governments need to limit food outlets in deprived areas to address this public health issue effectively.

The section will denote the consumption of foods with high energy content increases people’s weight and makes them more susceptible to Type 2 diabetes. Consequently, it will examine how this health condition can be reduced significantly through people eating more healthily (Ade, 2019).
Lack of exercise (SUBHEADING 2)
This part will denote data from Public Health England, which approximates that one in two woman and one in three men do not participate in physical activity (Public Health England, XXXXXXXXXXIt will also explore the relationship between these cu
ent trends and the burden of diabetes in the UK. The benefits of cheaper gym membership and a cap on working hours will be postulated in relation to promoting health lifestyles (John, 2017).
Fast food outlets (SUBHEADING 3)
This segment will demonstrate the rapid increase of fast food outlets in deprived areas, and how their growth leads to populations from lower socio-economic backgrounds eating unhealthy foods and developing diabetes (Ola, 2019).
