I. Introduction
A. Background info: This speech was delivered by President Barack Obama as an acceptance speech at the Democratic Convention Mile High Stadium in Denver, Colorado on the 28th of August 2008.
B. Background info: It focuses on the American promise of happy and healthy living for its citizens and how this promise was in crisis.
C. Background info: Obama also highlights how the economy and everything is in turmoil, in America.
D. Thesis statement: There is need for change in the American politics and government if Americans wish to relive the American promise at a time of crisis. This change can only be initiated if Americans are willing to make the right choices.
II. Body Paragraph 1
A. Topic sentence: The American promise is a reality and has been lived by our forefathers. It is us, who are losing sight of it.
