1. Blatt, Harvey. America's Food: What You Don't Know About What You Eat. MIT Press, 2008. JSTOR, www.jstor.org/stable/j.ctt5vjs21.
Harvey Blatt writes about the food industry and what is in the food the American population consumes daily. He touches on topics such as the health of Americans, the food industry and its production and distribution. The contents of this book provide detailed insights on what we ingest living in America and how that affects every single physiological process within us. Seemingly, this might not directly connect to my topic, however food production and where it comes from plays a huge role in what gets into our stomachs.

, Fogel., “Ecological co
elations of dietary food intake and mental health disorders”, Journal of Epidemiology and Global Health XXXXXXXXXX, Chicago, IL., Elsevier Ltd., 2016, open access article; http:

The paper examines the impact of dietary food intake on people throughout 17 countries. Data from the World Mental Health Survey were presented and used to compare the prevalence of four categories of mental health disorders amongst different populations. Mood disorders, anxiety disorders, impulse control disorders, and substance use disorders were observed and associated to country’s suga
sweetener and fish/seafood supply using the Spearman rank co
elation. According to the data gathered, sugar and sweetener being present in the diet is highly associated with all four disorders mentioned above. This source is helpful, because it provides data on how the food we eat today, impacts our health tomo
ow.
3. Parletta, Natalie., “Can diet and nutrition affect our learning, behavior and mental health?”, NUTRIDATE (2013), Australia, Fitzroy Wa
ingal Publications 2013, University of South Australia
Dr. Natalle Parletta, a nutritionist and dietitian, conducted a study amongst children with ADHD on how omega-3 affects learning and behavior. She elaborates on nutrition and
ain function, learning behavior and mental health, behavioral food reactions, and the connection between the gut and the
ain. This wonderful article provides easily comprehendible information on the topic I am researching, and it supports my thesis on how the food we eat today affects our mental and physical health.
4. Lunsford, Ruszkiewicz. How do your eating habits differ from your grandparents? Bedford/ St. Martin’s, 2019
Very detailed information on how the food we consume has changed in the last hundred years. That is a good example of how fast the food we eat is changing and most importantly how much and in what way. I wanted to use the date provided by the United States Department of Agriculture to discuss the changes in our eating habits which directly affects our well- being.

ain-on-food XXXXXXXXXX
This Harvard Medical School article is concentrated on how our
ain and bodies get affected by the different nutrients we provide to our bodies through dietary intake. It discusses how the foods we consume have a direct connection to our thoughts, emotions and feelings. This article is rich in information about the physiological processes that occur in our bodies when consuming different foods. The insights provided in it will aid me in conducting a better presented research and a more comprehendible information for the audience I am hoping to reach.
