Scenario
Brightmouth College is a higher education institute which used to be managed by a local government authority but has now become autonomous. Its payroll is still administered by the local authority and pay slips and other output are produced in the local authority’s computer centre. The authority now charges the college for this service. The college management is of the opinion that it would be cheaper to do the payroll processing themselves and will develop their own payroll system.

As a project manager my objective is to develop payroll system at cheaper cost and will maintain the quality of payroll system. In order to manage the payroll project, it should be developed within fixed time. The project expenditure is mentioned from start to end in the requirement document which consists of assets cost, project finance cost, project testing cost etc. To develop the project on time, there is size of team planned and team members should be selected carefully based on skills in their field.
In order to develop the payroll system from scratch there are following phases that need to follow as listed below:
1. Requirement Analysis: This phase of project development is also called feasibility study. During this phase, professionals will take deep knowledge of payroll system working. The main purpose of this phase is to gather all the requirements related to payroll project and document is built that consists of details of payroll projects recommendations.
2. Design: The design phase consists of 2 parts i.e. HLD (High level design) and LLD (Low Level Design). In this phase design of payroll system is built by designer on the base of requirement document.
