THE SCIENCE OF ICE CREAM

Procedure:
1. In a small (quart-size) zip-lock bag place ½ dixie-cup sugar, 1 dixie-cup milk and ½ tsp vanilla.
2. Seal bag and mix well to dissolve the sugar.
3. Fill half a large (gallon-size) zip-lock bag with ice.
4. Add 1 dixie-cup rock salt to the LARGE bag.
5. Seal the small bag with the milk mixture and place it in the large bag.
6. Place the large bag on a few sheets of newspaper and fold the ends of the newspaper together to enclose the plastic bags.
7. Shake and rock the large bag until the contents of the small bag have solidified (about 10 minutes)
8. Carefully wipe the seal of the small bag before opening it…or you’ll have salty ice cream!
9. Transfer to a cup and enjoy!
