The report may be on technological innovation relevant to the students' major 
area of study which describes the history, current and future use(s) and the 
importance of a technological innovation. Alternatively, in conjunction with the 
students' subject teacher they may report on a procedure or issue relevant to 
their area of study.The students submit the final report. The final draft should include at least 
four additional references and be 1000 words in length. The paper should show 
response to the feedback and improvement from the preliminary report. There is 
an allowance of +/- 10% on word length.

Introduction
The touch screen technology is an electronic visual display, which senses the presence and even the location of a touch. This technology allows touching the display with a finger or hand. Touch screens are common today in various devices including game consoles, tablets and especially in Smartphones. The technology enables one to interact directly with items displayed and even indirectly, where the control involves a pointer directed by a mouse or touchpad. Samsung and Apple have many devices that use the touch screen technology. This has created a wide market for their products because it is a unique, fast and easy technology to use. The demand for these products is further enhanced by the need for fast and smooth service to access most information appliances (Verma).
Future Developments in Touch screen Technology
Electrovibration
The touch screen technology has a lot of potential development in the future. For instance, electrovibration is a new technology that is hoping to be adapted in touch screens. This system works by producing haptic feedback through generation of electronic waves. This creates a multitude of surfaces with various textures (Pak).
Recognise Pressure
Nippon Electric Company (NEC) has come up with a device that recognises the strength or pressure made by a finger. This device therefore, adjusts the movement depending on the intensity of pressure applied unlike the current touch screens where more pressure or small touch results in the same movement. If this technology were adopted, touch screens would require fewer buttons to complete expected actions (The Amazing Future of Touchscreen Technology).
Morphing
The other development that is coming up in touch screen technology is an added texture on the screen. Tactus Technology has created a tactile user interface on touch screens.
