Introduction
The purpose of this Paper is to identify political influences and possibilities for health policy creation in healthcare-focused policy and regulatory contexts. For local public health concerns, it will be investigated the research methodologies and information sources about the Covid-19 and its impact. Further it will be compared and analysed few articles and research paper’s arguments linked to the topic.
For this semester the most recent public health issue has been chosen, i.e. COVID-19 Impact on Public Health. COVID-19 has recently highlighted and worsened these long-standing issues, while also shedding light on the persisting racial and socioeconomic disparities in health care access, quality, and outcomes in the United States (Gollust, Nagler & Fowler, 2020). Additionally, it will be discussed the policies related to it.
Summary of the research
Forward-thinking investments in public health infrastructure have contributed to increases in life expectancy and quality of life throughout American history. In the nineteenth century, the establishment of local public health agencies aided advances in cleanliness and the burden of infectious illnesses such as typhoid and cholera (Gollust, Nagler & Fowler, 2020). The public health sector has performed a variety of roles, from monitoring illness causes and effects to alerting policymakers and the general public about best practises.
The major drivers of declining life expectancy in the United States (US) are increasing incidence of drug overdoses and the growing burden of chronic illnesses. While there is a greater demand for robust public health infrastructure, government funding in public health capacities has decreased (Shah, Shankar, Schwind & Sittaramane, 2020). The sector's capacity to handle existing population health requirements is limited by chronically insufficient financing, personnel shortages, and obsolete infrastructure, authors further added.
Many exposure and environmental health experts quickly identified the potentially catastrophic public health consequences of concu
ent infectious and air pollution-mediated illness with the advent of the respiratory virus SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). The public health catastrophe caused by the Coronavirus is both a political and health-communication issue (DeSalvo et al., 2021).
Authors describe the circumstances of coronavirus communication that contribute to negative consequences. Partisan cueing, minimised dangers, emotional arousal, fragmented media, and Trump's message are all examples of these circumstances. Geographic heterogeneity in and inequalities in COVID-19 illness outcomes are expected to be amplified by divergent communication patterns.
Critical analysis
The many types of health department governance and operations are closely linked to the duties of public health in the United States. While health authorities have encountered various obstacles as a result of COVID-19, the underlying causes of these issues stretch back...
