Summary of the problem.
Audit is conducted to check the level of facilities for the disabled people in the University campus. Starting from the Web Content, On-Campus Marketing, access to the campus, building entry and accessibility and areas around the campus. The topic has been selected to check the experience of the disabled person in the university and to improve the areas for which services and equipments are needed.
This project aims to address, each and every detail which aid disabled person to access the facilities in the campus. The facilities availed by the disabled person is different from the regular persons in the campus. Like, use of lift, emergency services, access to the wheel chair is required for every disabled person. The main area of concern is that, specialized services to serve the visually impaired and other disabled students to access the facility without much help from the normal help. Disabled persons when they come to the university should be able to independently access and venture to all the areas of university campus.
Needs Assessment is conducted in the University Campus – Building 7.
Background and mini literature review:
Finding the suitable postsecondary institute for the disabled is difficult, not all the universities are equipped for the disabled students. There are already large numbers of people who represent in university campus. Many of the big universities are equipped as per the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). There are aids for technological advancement in the universities. There are different Acts which are passed by the US Congress to enable disable students to study in the universities on par with the regular students Like, Assistive Technology Act, Rehabilitation Act.
There is no one set of solution for the disabled students, apart from basic facilities, some additional facilities also provided or some more flexibility provided. Like, additional exam time, personal coaching to the special needs and alternative exam formats.
Facilities may differ for the different disabled persons. Example, students with the walking disability may need pathways which are suitable to them, visually impaired students need audio messages and signage in Braille language to help them. Emergency exit at the convenient place is to be placed.
Audit checklist designed covers all the facility area and the answering them is also easy, as it requires Yes or No answer, sometimes
ief explanation.

There are large numbers of students who are not able to access the syllabus in the pandemic situation. People with disability are prone to vulnerable to severe health symptoms. With educational institutions closure students with disability are deprived of some basic facilities like assistive technologies, personal coaching, counseling, extracu
