The most important step in the strategic plan is the evaluation phase especially when it comes to the healthcare field. As an employee at a hospital, who is working on a five-year plan, it would be important to keep a proper scorecard and measurements. It helps to determine how your business is doing in relevance to the goals that were made for the company. The appropriate way to evaluate this plan would be to look at the goals that were created for the project when it was started. Were the goals properly met and without shortcomings. The goals for the business should be tangible and achievable in a set time frame. The time frame that should be met for a hospital plan would be six months after the plan goes into effect. If the plan has been placed over a year ago, that has been plenty enough time to see if the plan has been effective in the evaluation phase. If the goals have not been reached, the company should re-evaluate the strategic plan and see where it can be altered. In a healthcare organization that emphasizes creativity, the process is still especially useful and can help with the success of the organization. The company could still use this step to use the creativity of the team to make it work for the needs of the team. Many hospital systems use creative ventures to help give patients an experience to remember, and makes the job rewarding for staff. A creative adventure that was made in a local hospital in my area is Music Therapy for patients that are on life support. This venture created by specialist to assist with brain stimulation and keep the brain stem active.
