Instructions:
1. Research: Research potential sports events open for bids on the Canadian
Sport Tourism Alliance "Sports Event Directory." Analyze various events and
choose one that you find suitable for your hometown.
2. Feasibility Study: Conduct a feasibility study of your hometown, assessing its
capacity to host the selected event. The study should cover:
• Infrastructure and Facilities
• Accessibility and Transportation
• Accommodation
• Local Community Support
• Environmental Concerns
3. SWOT Analysis: Conduct a SWOT analysis to evaluate the strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with hosting the selected
event in your hometown.
4. Strategic Plan: Develop a strategic plan outlining how your hometown plans to
host the selected event. The plan should address:
• Marketing and Promotion
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Volunteer Management
• Financial Budget and Funding Options
5. Presentation: Create a presentation to showcase your proposal. Your
presentation should be visually appealing and should contain the following
sections:
• Introduction of Hometown
• Event Overview
• Feasibility Study Findings
• SWOT Analysis
• Strategic Plan
• Conclusion and Future Prospects
6. Report: In addition to the presentation, prepare a comprehensive report
detailing all the above steps and any supplementary materials supporting your
id proposal.
