Evidence based practice is one of the essential practices of nursing and healthcare system. It is considered as essential as it provides care support to patients for improving their health conditions in a better manner. Nursing handover is a kind of evidence based practice that is based on the flow of communication method within a healthcare centre. This mainly occurs between nurses of two different shifts and efficiency of nursing handover is helpful to keep all records regarding a patient’s physiological conditions.
This essay revolves around the fact that absence of frequency of communication hampers the process of nursing handover which may be disadvantageous for patient monitoring process. Thus, this essay aims to prove that nursing handover is an evidence based practice which has direct relationship with patient’s safety and care quality process of healthcare centre.

The main concept of nursing handover centres on of the fact that it is a process for continuing quality of care seamless and safely, by providing valid information to oncoming nurses regarding patients’ physical conditions. Clinical handover is necessary in nursing practice for maintaining continuity of patient care in a prominent manner. Shifting patient’s responsibilities from one caregiver to another needs immense knowledge based on patient handling process.
