A clinical research is a type of research which tries to find out the pathophysiology, epidemiology and treatment of illnesses occu
ing in the population. The main purpose of clinical research is to identify different factors responsible for causing the disease, to identify the pathogenesis of a disease and also to find out appropriate treatment for the same. Clinical trials are a type of clinical research which deals with the treatment of a newly developed treatment approach to the population. The treatment can be pharmacological treatment, vaccination or immunotherapy. The main purpose of clinical trials is to identify any potential side effects of the drugs to alleviate the harmful effects of the drugs.
Clinical research can be of different types including treatment research, prevention research, diagnostic research, screening research, quality of life research, genetic studies and epidemiological studies. The treatment research is mostly involved with development if treatment interventions such as medication, development of devises for treatment and also includes psychotherapies. The prevention reteach mostly involves in research for prevention of a disease, they try to understand the factors which regulate a disease and interventions are developed on the basis of their research in order to prevent the disease from developing.
