What your are going to do: Rogers Canadian company (real not fictional) that is about
to go through a change or initiative (The change is Rogers-Shaw merger). As Project
Managers your are going to create a plan to ensure that this change will be successful.
The change/initiative could be any variety of ideas:
● New Product Launch
● A new location or the construction of a new plant
● Response to post pandemic event or situation
● A supply chain issue
● Organizational approach to diversity, equality & inclusion
● Company reorganization
● Information Technology (IT) system changes such as introduction of a new employee
platform or as social media tool… etc.
● Response to external factors (such as competition or pricing), political and/or legal
changes affecting the business
● Merger or acquisition
● Any thing else that you find that is feasible to work on
The company and the initiative must be based on facts as much as possible. You may not
get every bit of detail about the organization that you need so everything else within the
project can be made up. Feel free to use your creativity.
The criteria your team will follow to do this: As stated above, your team will create and
present a guide for this company’s successful initiative. This initiative will impact multiple
functional areas, which need to be dealt with. Using the lens of project managers, who are
highly skilled in organizational behaviour, your team will be creating a proactive guide
according to the criteria below:
Provide a very high-level discussion on the following areas:
1. An overview of the company and project selected Rogers & Shaw. Please include
the name of the corporation, its main area(s) of business, its size, countries that they
operate in, net worth, the approximate number of employees, and any other relevant
data.
2. Assume your Project team was asked by the company to assist. Please present the

Overview of Organization
Rogers is one of the largest, leading and reputed Canadian communications and Media Company operating primarily in the field of cable & digital television,
oadcasting, landline, internet services, telephony and wireless communications. The head office of the company in Toronto, Ontario. The company was founded in 1925 by Edward S. Rogers Sr. as a Rogers Vacuum Tube Company. The main competitor of Rogers is Bell Canada that offers similar types of media and communication related products and services in the market (Rogers Communication. 2023). Moreover, it is found that, Rogers has its business operations in the United Kingdom (UK) and United State of America (USA) with the partnership with other media and communication companies. For example, the company has more than 198(35.80%) and 18(3.25%) business customers in United States and UK respectively. Moreover, more than 275 companies in Canada is using Rogers’s media and communication services. For instance, 49.73% of Rogers Communications customers are from the Canada (Rogers Communication. 2023).

According to Taylor (2023), the above statistics shows that the company employed about 24,000 employees in 2021. This is reduction by 1000 as company employed 23000 people in 2020. The number of employees has fluctuated due to the recent pandemic Covid-19.

Rogers-Shaw Merge
In 2021, Rogers Communications announced its intention to acquire Shaw Communications in a deal valued at approximately CAD 26 billion. Shaw Communications Inc. is also a Canadian telecommunications company that provides internet, television, and home phone services. The company was founded in 1966 and is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. Shaw Communications operates throughout Canada and has approximately 3.2 million internet and 1.5 million television customers as of 2021. The company has a market capitalization of around CAD 14 billion and employs approximately 10,000 people. The merger is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to be completed by mid-2022. The merger would create a major Canadian telecommunications company with a significant market share in wireless, internet, and television services (CityNews Ottawa. 2021).
