Introduction
Evidence-based practice in nursing helps in increasing the health and safety of the patients. The methods to sustain it will be discussed in this report.
Ba
iers and Facilitators
    There are several ba
iers which hinders the evidence-based practice (EBP) in nursing. The main ba
ier being the lack of human resource and proper time management. As reviewed by Alatawi et al. (2020), the number of nurses is less in several healthcare organisation as the profession is avoided by many. This produces a lack of skill in the existing team of nurse which acts as a ba
ier in the EBP. Being an important area of the health system, the nurses lack their knowledge and training in the evidence-based practice which results in a lack of motivation. However, according to Shadadi, Sheyback, Balouchi and Shoorvazi (2018), the lack of motivation occurs in the nurses due to the lack of resources on proper EBP research. The lack of resources results in the lack of knowledge and proper training of the nurses. Additional information can be obtained from the work of Li, Cao and Zhu (2019), which represents that the lack of encouragement of implementing the evidence-based practice is one of the main ba
iers beside time management and lack of human resources. Positive encouragement in a workplace works as a catalyst towards implementation of a practice. This encouragement towards adopting an evidence-based practice is missing in several healthcare systems which acts as a ba
ier of its compliance.
    Although several ba
iers are present in the implementation of evidence-based practice (EBP), yet the importance of it cannot be denied. Several facilitators such as proper academic knowledge and training, strong leadership skill of the management, and increasing the human resource can help to implement the EBP in a healthcare system. as supported by Mathieson, Grande and Luker (2019), the implementation of EBP in a healthcare system can be done through the knowledge about accessing the resources on it and exploring the main ideas in the training process. An access to the evidence will help to adopt the practice by the nurses. However, according to Lovink et al. (2022), an appropriate leadership and advocacy can provide an encouragement to the nurses which acts as an internal facilitator of implementing EBP. Proper encouragement helps the nurse to manage the time and resources efficiently to implement EBP. As suggested by Co
ea et al. (2020), the ba
ier of the limited working time can be overcome with the increase in the number of nurses in the unit. Increased human resource will facilitate a uniform workload, helping in the implementation of EBP. As supported by Morgan et al. (2018), the nurse-nurse hierarchy helps in increasing the training frequency. This facilitates the implementation of EBP through proper training of the nurses.
Strategies to Decrease the Non-Compliance
The strategies which can be included to decrease the non-compliance of the clinical practice guidelines are maintaining a patient-centric treatment goals and modifying the resources...
