Part 1
Students are required to identify a patient safety issue raised in the Aged Care Royal Commission XXXXXXXXXXin relation to substandard care and explore the issue in a discussion board post on the 10193 Clinical Governance Canvas site. Students are required to define the safety issue and discuss the negative impacts for the affected person/family, health care workers and health care facility, providing evidence and statistics. Students will also make recommendations about evidence informed risk management frameworks that could be used to promote improved outcomes in relation to the patient safety issue identified. The post will include a APA7th edition formatted reference list, and be 500 words (including intext references, not including reference list).
 
Part 2
Students are required to respond to a peer’s Aged Care Royal Commission substandard care discussion  post with a written reflection on what you have learned and how this insight connects with your experience (Word count: Maximum 500 words).

Answer 1 : The issue is safety of Aboriginal and To
es Strait islander people. The main issue that is associated with their condition is that the health of these people is connected to their country, their origin and their family as well as community. Any changes which affect this factor affects their social, emotional as well as physical wellbeing of these people. All these aspect can prove to be detrimental to their overall health. On the basis of these factors, cultural safety has been considered to be extremely important for providing a safe ad grooming environment in the age care centers. The cultural safety helps to ensure a security to the people and it gives them a sense of individuality also. It is has been suggested that cultural safety must be embedded in the aged care system throughout. It must be considered in all the stages of aged care which starts form initial contact with the system, care at home and care the age care centers also. Here, the need for trauma informed care is also related to the cultural safety (Laverty et al., 2017).
In order to provide cultural safety to the aged care centers and aged people there, it has been recommended by the Australian government that the care finders who are in charge of serving the aboriginal and To
es Strait islanders should be if their origin as this will help them relate with them.
