Introduction
The age group selected for the study is pregnant women. It has been seen that women who are pregnant often suffered from the depression. There depression can risk their pregnancy or worsen their situation. As mentioned by Carney, and Freedland (2017), depression can be defined as the mental disorder which affect the mood of the individual. It is also known as mood disorder. Depression includes the feeling of sadness, loss or anger which interferes with the daily activity of the individual. It must be noted that people failed to identify the symptoms of disease, as an outcome this mental illness become worsen. Depression is responsible for interfering in the relationship of the individual and it is also responsible for the interference in the chronic illness. It has been seen that people suffering from depression when not treated properly often develop suicidal tendencies. There is different level of depression from which people suffered. Following assignment identifies the depression among pregnant women and health intervention to deal with the issue.
Levels of depression among selected group
As suggested by Pierce (2017), it has been seen that pregnant women suffered from prenatal depression. Prenatal depression is a major depressive disorder with peripartum onset. This occurs during pregnancy or starts withing the four weeks of childbirths. This kind of depression also termed as postpartum depression. It must be noted that postpartum depression is the terminology used when the depression onset after giving birth to the child. As mentioned by Tuthill, Pellowski, Young, and Butler (2017), high level of the hormonal changes during the pregnancy and childbirth resulted in triggering changes in the
ain that resulted in mood swings. Women often suffered from the lack of sleep and physical discomfort which is part of the pregnancy and giving birth to the child.
As noted by Figueiredo, Pinto, Pacheco, and Field (2017), pregnancy used to be considered as happiest women of the women life and when they suffered from depression, it was considered as the emotional mood. The high hormones and high rates of stress triggered the depression which over the period termed as prenatal depression. There is combination of the biological and emotional factors which resulted into anxiety and depression. It has been estimated that that around 10 to 20 percent of the pregnant women developed prenatal depression.
As noted by Yu et al. (2018), normal pregnancy has the signs and symptoms of the depression. There are some signs such as insomnia, emotional changes, and weight gain. The symptoms of prenatal depression include very frequent crying and weepiness. There is trouble in sleeping due to frequent urination. There is lower energy and fatigue, and change in the appetite. Apart from this, there is loss of enjoyment in activities that used to give pleasure and happiness. There is an increased level of anxiety and there is trouble feeling connected to the growing baby.
As mentioned by Plant, Pawlby, Sharp, Zunszain, and Pariante (2016), when mothers have difficulty in making connection with the newborn child, their symptoms get worsen. Thus, prenatal depression worsens the situation of the pregnant mother. On the contrary, it has been seen that women who already suffered from the depression before pregnancy often have chances of developing prenatal depression.

There are various factors which resulted in depression among the pregnant women. These factors are also considered as social determinant of health. These factors include socioeconomic factor, unemployment, poor mental...
