Assessment 1 – Discussion board posts
A writing prompts/questions will be posted on the Learnline discussion board in weeks 2, 4, 6 and 8. Each question will relate to the weekly content and should provoke your thinking around the topic. It will provide you with an opportunity to for you to present your ideas and opinions about what you have learnt.
You are expected to post a response (250 words) to each question.
To facilitate lively and dynamic discussion, each week you will also be required to respond to another's student's statement.  Do you agree/disagree? Can you expand upon their statement? Support your replies with evidence. Marks allocated will include use of sources and your response to others. Marking criteria is outlined below and to be used as a guide in writing your responses.
You will have one week to answer the question and responded to another students posts.
PLEASE NOTE: You MUST respond to another students post for your post to be marked. If you do not respond to another students post, you will receive 0 for that specific prompt. 
Each question will be marked out of /10 but worth 7.5%, meaning the total mark for Assessment 1 is 30%. 
This will be an individual assessment and will NOT require any group work. 
Please note: I would like to provide a safe environment for you to present your ideas and views around what can be at times, quite complex and difficult issues so that you are able to explore them with support. Please ensure that any sensitive material that your fellow students share is treated with respect and confidentiality.
