The motivational factor behind selecting the job of genetic counsellor appears from this perception only. I could make this best career choice throughout the semester after pondering over the merits of this qualified job profile. The Roles, Definition, History and Other Relevant Factors
At first, it is important to understand what role genetic counsellors play in the healthcare service delivered. Their basic role is to understand the process of initial assessment upon the frameworks of genetics and convey the same to the patients and their families. In other words, a genetic counsellor is the person who holds the responsibility of understanding the precise details linked to the genetic issues of the patients (Biesecker, 2020).
The counsellor then becomes functional unit of the initial assessment team and works on these details collected through assessment. Upon successful completion of the assessment, as a knowledgeable person of his or her job profile, the counsellor approaches the patient and shares the details of the genetic issues with the patient.
