3. Specific instructions
To do these activities you will need to :
· A personal compute
· Windows 2012 Operating System IOS
· RAID Controller, two hard disks, cables
4. Assessment task- What you are required to do
Activity 1:
0. Install a hardware or software RAID controller, hard disk, appropriate OS, and configure RAID 0 or RAID 1 or RAID 5(Based on the number of hard disk you have in your lab) in a computer (server) for an organization.
Hints:
First: Take a PC, a RAID hardware controller, RAID software driver in your hand with three hard disks and the hard drive cables
Second: Connect the hardware controller to computers’ mothe
oard and connect hard-disks to the raid controller. Connect power to the hard disks.
Third: On the computer. Install the RAID hardware driver for installing necessary drivers to run the RAID configuration.
Fourth: Configure the RAID 5
Fifth: Install the Windows server 2012
Note: Take the picture and the screenshot of your every job.
0. Configure a NAS device in a LAN environment and share its drive to other computers who are on the same LAN.
Hints: You need to create your network storage folder (in a NAS device) in your machine and make it accessible from other computers. Make a folder with your student ID and save a test backup file there.
First: XXXXXXXXXXshare . A folder named as a ‘share’ has been created in a machine XXXXXXXXXXNAS device).
Note: Make sure your computer is in the same network as XXXXXXXXXXx. Ping the IP address XXXXXXXXXXfrom your PC to verify that you can reach to the NAS device.
Second: Access this folder and create your own folder inside the folder share and write some files.
