When I see Norma Rae I see a strong women, I see a leader and I also see, a very brave woman. She is definitely someone who is fearless and will stand up for what she believes in not only for herself but for everybody. She believes in honesty and fair pay for fair work. I absolutely see myself in her eye am actually going through something as we speak for my aunt who was given the runaround multiple times from Ashley furniture. She paid in full on 11/11/20 for some furniture and was told it would be delivered on Christmas Eve Believe it or not they have called her on three separate occasions to extend the delivery as of today she has yet to receive her furniture. I got on the phone right away and went round and round with the manager and not only will her furniture be delivered tomorrow instead of February 16 she will also be getting a refund for partial payment. I am the go to person for my whole entire Family including my husband’s side. It really grinds my gears when people get taken advantage of, it really makes me think about all the people that do not have people like myself in their life that cannot stand up for them or make something that is clearly the right thing into a reality.

What was your take on Norma Rae?

In my opinion, in the assigned video clip, Norma Rae exhibited traits of a charismatic leader. She used her communication skills to persuade her coworkers to join in her fight to unionize the textile factory where she worked. It was a very powerful scene when she held up theUNIONsign and asked her coworkers to join her and they did. The look on Norma Rae’s face when they turned off their machines in support was that of satisfaction and elation.

What did she stand for?

Norma Rae fought to unionize the textile plant where she worked in North Carolina. As the text in the assignment states, she stood for class solidarity across ethnic and racial barriers. She became involved in trade union activities to due to poor working conditions and long hours.

Can you see yourself standing up for what you believe in?

I would like to hope that I would have the courage depicted in the movie, Norma Rae but I cannot be sure until faced with a situation. I have spoken out against injustices, and even “marched” for causes, but I have never been in a situation where my life was at risk as a result.

Not just Norma Rae, each and every person should be strong and take stand for things that are wrong or unfair. Honesty is an integral part of our personal as well as professional life, I believe. Ashley Furniture is doing a te
ible job. In my opinion, the company is extremely unprofessional and I agree with you. If the payment is done by your aunt on 11/11/20, if not possible on the very next day, it should have been delivered in a week. I understand, there might be issues from...
