the AIS can be used by the management to evaluate the company performance and it can also be 
used externally by investors, creditors, and tax authorities for decision making purposes. In order 
to develop an accounting information system we have to follow 5 basic steps which includes 
planning, analysis, design, implementation and support.  
There are six basic elements that compose an accounting information system: a) people, 
b) procedures, c) data, d) software, e) information technology infrastructure, f) internal controls.
