Introduction
This paper consists of extensive details on the Roman culture. Initially, the city of Rome was the foundation of the Roman Empire. The city, after it was built, had various theaters for enjoyment of the general masses, parks, gymnasiums and
othels as well. Gradually small towns started to grow around the circumference of the city of Rome.
Those towns, as well as the city of Rome had temples and places of worship. Soon, the city was a
anged into apartment blocks. The inhabitants of the city were mostly the landowners and other people with strong economy. The population size of the Roman Empire at its demographic peak now, which is varying between 60-70 million and over 100 million.
History of the Roman Culture
The studies prove that many of the cultural associations that are in the Roman culture were actually adopted by the Romans from the Greek culture. The western culture has also influenced Rome tremendously. Slavery was a part of the Roman culture. Unlike the social structure of the society, we live in, the Roman Empire has its own social structure, which not only meant the family, but also a structured legally constructed relation of Patria Potestas. The Pater Familias is the absolute head of the family. They had complete authority over their wife, children, nephews, nieces, slaves as well as the freedman. Slavery was a part of the Roman culture.
