The Haitian Revolution was an efficacious revolt fought against the French colonial rule by self-liberated slaves in Saint –Dominque which is cu
ently a sovereign state of Haiti. The revolution started on 22 August 1791 Adam Hochschild, Pg. 257), and ended in 1804. This revolution was regarded and described as one of the most accomplished slave rebellion which included mulattoes, Spanish, blacks, French and British participants. Toussaint Louverture fought heroically in the Haitian revolution. The Haitian revolution headed to the rise of a state which is not only free from bondage or slavery but also got freedom from the rules of former captives and non-whites (Franklin W. Knight, 103–115). Therefore, now in history it has been regarded as one of the defining moment of the Atlantic World (Joseph, Celucien L, Pg 37-55).The revolution effect was felt throughout the America which led to the elimination of slavery. After the Spartacus failed revolt against the Roman Republic nearly about 1900 years ago regarding slavery, the Haitian Revolution marked as a largest slave uprising moment.
The Latin America Wars of Independence
The Latin America wars of Independence arose due to the Spanish colonization and captivation of the Latin American people. These incidents were when Spain started establishing colonies in the Americas. The Napoleon’s invasion in the Iberian Peninsula which comprised of Spain and Portugal acted as an immediate trigger of the conflict in 1807 and 1808. It is also because of the mounting discontent of creole elites with limitations imposed by Spanish imperial rule. The war took place in the late eighteens and early nineteenth centuries which lead to the formation of many independent countries in Latin America. It is also believed that due to the French and American Revolution, the Latin America got inspired that it is possible to defeat a more powerful and controlling countries which triggered the Latin American revolution.
