Assessment Task 3 – Essay
This assessment provides an opportunity for you to demonstrate your understanding
of clinical governance and the roles that open disclosure; risk management;
eporting systems; professional standards; codes of practice; and leadership and
management have for the quality and safety of patient care delivery within the
healthcare sector.
Weighting: 50%
Length and/or format: 2500 words
Purpose: This assessment task provides an opportunity for students to appraise,
critically analyse and evaluate the literature in relation to the various systems,
processes, and leadership and management styles that are required to mitigate risk
and create a culture of safety within healthcare settings.

You are required to watch part 1 and part 2 of the Four Corners special investigation
into the failings in aged care called ‘who cares?’ and address the following
assessment question;
