1. By the dint of the strategy of imperialism and due to having the potential of colonizing countries, the British East India Company eventually became the sole European power in India. The declining power of the Mughal Empire eventually paved the way for the British East India Company to get hold on the political, social and economic system of India in a thorough manner. It should be noted that decentralization of the Mughal power gave the British East India Company the opportunity to exploit the flaws in the regional political systems and this opened the door of opportunity for them to exploit different regions of India economically. Moreover, it is noteworthy that with myriads of military advantages on their side the British East India Company gradually became a powerful player in the local polity of India and it gradually started intervening in local political disputes (Singh, 2017). Such interventions also paved the way for the Company to get transformed from a trading enterprise to a political power in India. 
2. The Great Mutiny of 1857 was the outcome of the degrading relationship between the Company’s officials and the native Indians.
