Ans. 8(a)
The symbols used can be defined as-
The component no. 1 is Unidirectional flow control.
The component no. 2 is Unidirectional flow control.
The component no. 3 is Directional control valve (normally closed type).
The component no. 4 is Directional control valve (normally closed type).
The component no. 5 is Directional control valve (normally closed type).
In the above description the A
ows are indicating the flow direction of air cu
ent. If
the external port is not connected to the internal parts, the symbol in T form and reverse delta
also uses for the exhaust of the circuit.
Ans. 8(b) & (c)

In the above ports,
1. The squire term represents the switching in the circuit.
2. The a
ows are representing the direction of flow.
3. The horizontal lines shows the main line of the flow.
Ans. 8(d)
Once the system is activated the piston will begin to move cyclically . The position of
valves 3 and 4 will determine the position of valve 5 and intern; the direction in which the
piston will move. The value of input signal is evaluated by the output of the line. When the
piston is fully retracted, valve 3 will be opened, this will then allow air to flow and operate
valve 5. This will reverse the direction of the piston. When the piston reaches maximum
outstroke, valve 4 will be activated; which will cause valve 5 is used for the re set of the
system.
Ans. 9(e)
Valves are used as a device for the release of the external signal. It is also uses for the
controlling of the fluid to flow in it. The direct control valve is used to control the fluid flow in the
system. The objectives of the use of direct control valve in the system are as,
1. It is used for start, stop, accelerate and regulate the fluid direction in the system.
2. To permit the free flow from the pump to the reservoir at low pressure
when the pump’s delivery is not needed into the system.
Ans. 9 (a)
After pressing the start button a signal is shows in the port 1a and the piston 1A started
extending, gets A motion. A Action delivered a signal 1a , and applied to the motion. The
|B action generates sensor signal 1b , which is used for B
 motion. _B Action generates sensor
signal 0c which is used for D motion. D
 Action generates sensor signal d , which is used
for D motion. The D action generates signal 0d which contracts the piston A
 .
Ans. 9(b)
The mentioned circuit is as shown below,

Ans. 10

The above schematic diagram is of A-B+B-A+
