Question 1
a. What is plagiarism and why is it important for you to avoid it? (3 marks)
Answer:
Plagiarism can be said as the practice in which one submits the work of some other person. It can be presenting someone else’s ideas, writing and other work without acknowledging them. Even when paraphrasing it is important for one to acknowledge the other person’s work so as to avoid plagiarism. Example: Copying the work of the previous students.
Plagiarism or collision is unfair as it can be said as cheating which undermines the honesty and integrity of the student as well as the university. It can be said as dishonesty and can consider the person cheating as unfit for attaining the academic degree. For a university it is important that the student should be an independent learner and researcher and should have other attributes which qualifies him to attain certain degrees which is mislead if the student uses different unfair practices like plagiarism and colliusion. It is important to avoid it as it is considered to be cheating and unethical.

In-text referencing is the mode of referencing in which the data taken from some outside resource is refe
