Abstract
No person want to visit hospital, as the environment of the hospital makes healthy person
unhealthy, moreover the expenses of hospitals are huge, which, a normal person cannot afford. In
USA, the availability of beds is also short due to which patients did not able to get proper
treatment in the hospital. The most difficult job for the hospitals is to
ing differentiation in
their services, as today, every hospital is providing same set of facilities to the patients. To
overcome this problem Presbyterian Healthcare Services came with innovative product known as
‘Hospital at Home’.
In this program, patients will be treated in the home
itself; they will be assigned one nurse and one physician, who will take care of them. In case of
emergency, patients will be admitted to hospital. This program is launched in selected areas and
for few diseases. The results of this pilot project are very encouraging and it is expected that in
coming years, this model will be adopted by many other hospitals. There are some challenges in
implementing the program globally, but if Presbyterian Healthcare Services make proper strategy
then it can get very good response from the customers.

Health sector is the only sectors, which always grow, whatever is the situation of economy and
people are ready to pay any amount to cure their diseases. From last few years, many new
players have come into this sector and they are trying to differentiate their services from other
hospitals. Government, also from time to time came with various schemes, to increase the
private- public partnership, so that people don’t face any problem, when they visit hospitals.
Since services
are perishable in nature, so they cannot be stored. So, if patient did not come to hospital, then
also hospital has to pay fixed costs of hospital like rend, electricity etc. Due to this problem
hospitals hesitate to increase the number of beds in the hospitals. Many people himself do not
want get admitted in hospital because they think that environment of the hospital is himself sick,
and patient has to see other patients, everyday, who are suffering from various diseases.
There is one class in the society, which
cannot afford to go into the hospitals, so they adopt to stay out from hospitals. Many people have
insurance policies as many people face problems in claims. In many hospitals, patients do not get
the environment, which they get in homes. Addition to this, family members have to travel long
distance to meet the patients. So, sometimes, family has to appoint a person, who always remains
i the hospital to take care of patient.
